Position Description—Associate Consultant
Our testing services division specializes in the development, validation and analysis of entry-level selection processes. As an Associate Consultant, you will be responsible for a variety of duties including technical analyses of client data, providing assistance to Assessment Consultants, communication with clients, and the development of new measures. This is a client-facing role on the testing services team. You will partner with our clients to design, implement and analyze entry-level testing processes.

Duties/Responsibilities
Project Management: Independently and simultaneously manage multiple analytical projects.
Client Facing Responsibilities: Serve as a primary or secondary project contact/client liaison—provide excellent customer service to meet and maintain all client needs. Create and deliver client presentations. Present before small and large groups (client meetings, orientations, test administrations, etc.).
Job Analysis & Transportability Studies: Conduct job analyses including interviews, observations, JAQ survey development/analysis and job-analysis documentation. Administer and analyze validity transportability surveys as needed.
Project Planning & Coordination: Schedule projects and coordinate administrative details regarding projects such as structured interview development, assessor training, and orientations.
Test Development: Work with fellow testing services team members to develop new written examination content.
Assessment Implementation: Coordinate the implementation of examinations and structured interviews; maintain test security and integrity.
Data Analysis: Analyze psychometric properties of tests and assessments; conduct complex data analysis on job analysis questionnaires, assessment instruments, etc. Use SPSS and Excel to evaluate descriptive statistics, correlations, item analyses, adverse impact analyses, regression analyses and other advanced analyses.
Assessment Validation: Design, implement and analyze the results of construct, criterion and content validation studies.
Management/Project Supervision: Associate Consultants may have limited non-formal oversight responsibility over part-time staff members.
Write/update technical documentation sufficient for legal inquires and in accordance with the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures.
Meet general demands of clients in a service friendly manner, while delivering exceptional products in an error-free environment!
Assist other associate consultants, consultants, or managers with assigned projects.
Requirements
Job Requirements
A Master’s degree (at or very close to the time of hire) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field is required. We will consider Master’s degree holders with limited experience, though we are seeking candidates with a Master's degree who have workplace experience.
Experience in selection/assessment (managing and implementing selection and assessment projects—working on selection tools, process, design, validation and implementation) is preferred as this is a technical and client-facing position requiring advanced knowledge and/or experience with testing & assessments!
Ability to travel domestically approximately 5-15% of the time.
This is a hybrid work role: while the position will have some work-from-home flexibility, associate consultants are expected to work from our Oak Brook, IL office 5 days per week for the first several months of their employment, before transitioning to working 2-3 days per week from the office.
KSAs required for success
Advanced understanding of current I-O methods, principles, guidelines and legal principles, with a special emphasis on selection, assessment, test development, test validation, and psychometrics.
Knowledge of job analysis, competency model development, test development, validation, and adverse impact analyses; Solid understanding of professional, ethical, and legal standards in employment testing, measurement, and selection (SIOP, APA Standards, Uniform Guidelines, OFCCP, etc.).
Thorough understanding of statistics and psychometrics; Working knowledge of SPSS syntax and practical experience evaluating assessment data in SPSS is a must.
Client Skills including: Excellent interpersonal skills; Professional presence and demeanor with a strong customer service orientation; Strong oral communication skills and client presentation skills; ability to explain complex statistical analyses in comprehensible terms.
Project Management, including: Strong project management skill set including organization skills, planning, self-motivation, working autonomously, responsiveness to clients, etc.
Written Skills: Strong written communication skills needed to develop technical documentation, new written examination or structured interview items, supporting documents, etc.
Problem Solving Skills: Highly analytical, with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills; Able to apply knowledge and expertise to client situations; Able to apply strong problem-solving skills to unique situations and evaluate potential outcomes; ability to suggest different product offerings to suit the client’s needs based on their psychometric properties.
Detail Orientation: Maintain a meticulous and uncompromising attention to detail in an environment where the consequence of error is great.
